IHA Mother Cabrini Health Foundation
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The IHA Mother Cabrini Scholarship program grants funds to healthcare employees looking to earn the following certifications: RN, respiratory therapist, medical technician, medical assistant, and surgical technician. IHA member surveys indicate that these positions have the highest vacancies in our hospitals.
The program aids low-income, multicultural employees who have limited resources to pursue certifications, while also strengthening the career ladder within the IHA member healthcare workforce. We are able to fund this opportunity by a grant given to us by the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation. Scholarship funds are available to employees within IHA member hospitals and health systems.
In 2022 IHA awarded 28 organizations with $9,428 each to be used toward employee education. The funding benefitted over 140 employees across the IHA membership. Many of the recipients had been challenged during the pandemic and needed support to continue their education. In 2023 IHA awarded 28 organizations with $8,917.85 each to benefit additional employees. We are grateful to be able to provide this opportunity for them.
In 2023, IHA awarded $249,000 to 28 organizations to support scholarships.

Being a recipient of the Mother Cabrini Scholarship has been a great privilege and allowed me to invest further into my education with the hopes of becoming a registered nurse. I appreciate the award tremendously, including its incredible timing. The honor of receiving this scholarship has truly made an impact on my journey of being a college student and will aid in advancing my education. Thank you for the incredibly generous scholarship award.

With sincere gratitude, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. As a mom of two little girls and having a full-time job in the ER, this scholarship means the world to me. It was difficult to imagine where I could come up with the means to purchase the necessary equipment and supplies to further my career as an LPN. This scholarship supplied those means.
